Club Rules

The Club Rules encompass the ”Constitution/Rules”, “Standing Orders”, “Requirements on Practices & Procedures” and “Limitation of the Club’s Liability”, and  the “Health & Safety” and “Food Safety” documents;  these can be found on the club Noticeboard, on its Website (Corussailing.org.uk), and in the Annual Club Booklet (available at the clubhouse).  You / your family must adhere to the Club Rules, including your liabilities when on and off the water.

Parents / guardians must note their responsibilities for their children under 18, who must be supervised by a guardian or nominated guardian at all times whilst on the club premises, and provision of the Club’s rescue facilities for activities on the water does not absolve guardians from these responsibilities.

Members / Guardians are entirely responsible for their own and / or their children’s safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing herein or within the club’s practices and procedures reduces this responsibility. It is for members to decide whether their boat(s) is fit to sail in the prevailing conditions; by launching, members confirm the boat(s) is fit for those conditions, and they and / or their children are competent to sail and compete in them;  trainee members will be advised and supervised in this regard by the club trainers on duty at that time.

Your signature on the reverse of this form is your agreement to comply with the “Club Rules”.

Safety in the Dinghy Park

Protruding metal stakes may lead to a claim against you for personal injury.  Boats must be secured via two side stakes at least 0.8 metres long, hammered completely below ground, with only rope tails protruding; craft with masts stepped should also have bows secured.  To reduce the risk of fire in dry months and keep the club tidy, it is your duty to keep the grass cut short in your compound area.

Boat Trailers

Road trailers are not allowed to be kept at the club, unless they are under your dinghy.

Those not renewing their membership.

If you do not renew your membership by the 31st March, you must remove your dinghy from the Club premises.  The Club reserves the right to sell and remove dinghies and trailers where membership has lapsed.
