Notice of
Race
1. Rules
1.1 Racing will be governed by the ‘Rules’ defined in The Racing
Rules of Sailing and the
Sailing Instructions.
1.2 This Notice of Race may be amended by a Notice to Competitors
from the Organising Authority. If there
is any conflict with a Sailing Instruction, the Sailing Instruction shall
prevail.
2. Classes and eligibility
Racing will be open to all centreboard dinghies with
asymmetric or conventional rigs.
3. Entries and fees
3.1 All competitors must complete an entry form which will be
available on the day.
3.2 Non-members of Corus Sailing Club will pay a fee of £15 per double-hander
or £10 per single-hander, reduced by £5 for each sailor under 18. Cheques
should be made out to
3.2 Members of Corus Sailing Club will pay £5 per boat.
3.3 £5 per boat from entry fees will be donated to the RNLI.
4. Schedule
4.1 Registration Competitors will register at the
Clubhouse on 4 October from 9.30 a.m.
4.2 Briefing A competitors’ briefing will be held
at the Race Control hut at 11.30 a.m.
4.3 Racing Programme Race 1 Saturday 12.00. Races 2 and 3 to be announced.

10.30. Races 5 and 6 to be announced.
4.4 Race 4 ('RNLI' race') will be a combined handicap race for all
boats; other races will have various fleet starts.
5. Sailing Instructions Sailing
Instructions will be available at registration.
Racing arrangements will be confirmed at the briefing and
will depend on entries. It is expected to include Asymmetric Handicap, Laser,
Solo and General Handicap (conventional) categories.
6. Courses and Racing Areas
The racing areas and courses will be
announced at the briefing and described on the courseboard.
7. Scoring
The event will be scored according to RRS Appendix A, except that each boat’s
series score will be the total of her race scores with her worst score excluded
if 5 races have been completed.
8. Disclaimer of Liability
8.1 Competitors are entirely responsible for their own safety,
whether afloat or ashore, and nothing reduces this responsibility. It is for
competitors to decide whether their boat is fit to sail in the conditions in
which it will find itself. By launching competitors confirm the boat is fit for
those conditions and that they are competent to sail and compete in them.
Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility of the owners
and/or competitors, nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss,
damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of
the boat taking part in the racing. The organisers encompass everyone helping
to run the event. The provision of patrol boats does not relieve owners and
competitors of their responsibilities.
8.2 Each sailor under 18 on 4 October will be required to submit a
consent form signed by a parent or guardian.
9. Insurance Boats
must be adequately insured, including cover against third party claims of at least
£2,000,000.
10. Safety All competitors must wear adequate personal buoyancy of an
appropriate standard while afloat.
Wet suits and dry suits do not constitute adequate personal buoyancy.
11. Rights to use names and
likenesses Competitors automatically grant to
the Organising Authority without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use
and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed
television of or relating to the event.
