9. Support
boats
Only
patrol boats appointed by the race officer may enter the race area or communicate

10. Disclaimer of Liability
10.1 Competitors are entirely responsible for
their own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing reduces this
responsibility. It is for competitors to decide whether their boat is fit to
sail in the conditions in which it will find itself. By launching competitors
confirm the boat is fit for those conditions and that they are competent to
sail and compete in them. Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the
responsibility of the owners and/or competitors, nor will it make the
organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however
it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing. The
organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and the event, including
the organising authority, the race committee, the race officers, patrol boat
crews and beachmasters. The provision of patrol boats does not relieve owners
and competitors of their responsibilities.
10.2 Each
sailor under the age of 18 on 3 May will be required to submit a consent form
signed by a parent or guardian.
11. Insurance
Boats
are required to be adequately insured including insurance against third party
claims of at least £2,000,000.
12. Safety
Adequate personal buoyancy of an
appropriate standard shall be worn by all competitors whilst afloat. Wet suits
and dry suits do not constitute personal buoyancy.
13. Rights to use
names and likenesses
Competitors automatically grant to the
Organising Authority without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use and
show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television
of or relating to the event.
